Blue Nose and Snowball Patches

Blue Nose had originally been held at Camp Wauwepex, and moved to Onteora in 1993. The patch on the left was available from 1993 to 1998, and the one with the igloo was issued in 1999. Two pins were issued for Basic and Advanced Training and at shown on the left.

Each year, campers received a small dog for the sled, showing the year and District name. Each of the dogs for 1993-2000 are shown here:

The Rough Rider District began their winter campout, Snowball, in 1986. After several years of successful operation under that name, the District changed the name of their event back to Operation Igloo.
