Bluenose was originally held at Camp Wauwepex, and moved to Onteora in 1993.

Bluenose patch (29154 bytes)

This patch was available from 1993 to 1998.

Bluenose patch 1999(18104 bytes)

It was replaced with this version beginning in 1999.

Each year, campers received a small dog for the sled, showing the year and District name. Each of the dogs for 1993-2000 are shown here:

Bluenose dogs (41542 bytes)

Undated dog for 2000

Two pins were also available, one each for Basic and Advanced Training.

The Rough Rider District began their winter campout, Snowball, in 1986. After several years of successful operation under that name, the District changed the name of their event back to Operation Igloo.
