- When I first began this site in 1998 things were a lot different
on the Internet. Web space was much more expensive, and most downloads were at
28.8 dialup speeds or even slower. I think a 640x480 monitor was considered big.
As a result, I had sized the pages and pictures for the technology of that time. Now, of course, things are different in many ways. Some of
the pictures that looked quite large on an old CGA or VGA monitor look pretty
miniscule when viewed at today's resolutions. Same with the text; I know I'm
getting older, but I'd like to think that's not the only reason the 10-point
fonts I had used look so much smaller and harder to read now. I've started rescanning the pictures and making other
cosmetic changes to bring the site closer to modern times. I'm also updating
some of the pages to add new information. As a result things will look
differently from page to page as I work my way through the updates. If I break
anything please let me know.
