Onteora Scout Reservation Photo Album
Part 3 - 2000

The photos below were supplied by Jean-Pierre Moreau, and were taken on July 2, 2000. Thanks, Jean-Pierre, for sending them to share!

Alder Lake, looking out from the old "Wood Badge" training area.

Alder Lake - site of Maintenance/Commissary & Trading Post building constructed in 1972.

Alder Lake - approaching the Coykendall Lodge from the parking lot area.

This plaque on the front of the house reads:

COYKENDALL LODGE
Built in 1899 by
SAMUEL D. COYKENDALL
Early 20th Century Railroad
and Canal Baron

Restoration Pending

The back side of the Coykendall Lodge.

The Beaverkill Fish Hatchery in Debruce, NY. This was a popular stop on hikes to the covered bridge on the Beaverkill, and could also be reached on hikes to Alder Lake and Beech Mt. Scout Camp.

The trout tanks at the fish hatchery.

Frick Pond. This is the former Beech Mt. Scout Camp, which is now, like Alder Lake, owned by New York State.

Another view of Frick Pond, silent now that the Scouts have gone.

Here's Jean-Pierre himself, taking a break on the bridge over the Frick Pond outlet. He looks rested and ready to tackle the Blue Trail, doesn't he?

If you have any photos of your own please let me know. In the meantime, you can head back to the main Onteora page or the main Photos Page.
