Part 47 - The Flood of 2006 - Part 1

As many campers know, it can get rainy up at Onteora. This in turn leads to flooding in the area, with Livingston Manor often taking a beating. Just before camp was to open for the 2006 season the area was hit particularly hard. Thanks to Mike Scott for the pictures.

Orchard Lake on a gray and gloomy day.

Looking towards the waterfront area.

The road disappears into the swollen lake.

Road around lake below former Trading Post.

Looking towards lake from road to camping areas.

Water racing through the camping area.

This is a path leading to a camp site - not a water fall.

The road curves left towards the Long House, with the portion on the right leading to the ruins of the Council House.

More water running through a camp site.

I believe this is the entrance to the Adoette camp site.

Anyone heading into the Black Beaver site was going to get quite wet.

There was so much water in camp that the Water Tank was overflowing.
