Pre-Onteora postcards of the camp property

A large number of postcards were produced during the years that the property was used as a private fishing and skeet shooting club. Apparently the operation was well known enough that cards were published by several different companies. Some were likely made available to guests and others sold off-site.

Click on the cards for a larger view. Some cards have been rotated to make it easier to read the messages on them.

1907 Orchard Lake postcard

1907 Orchard Lake postcard
Taken from the dam area towards the parade grounds, this postcard mailed in 1907 features what we came to know as the Tuttle House, the barn, and the Manor House. Sadly all three of these structures are no longer there.

This card is not dated but was advertised as being circa 1910. It's a nice view of the Manor House. There's another structure in the trees on the left - it might be the Tuttle House or the barn.

Here's another early card. This 1915 view is looking in the opposite direction from the 1907 card, taken from the Manor House towards the lake. The view hasn't changed much in over 100 years!

"The Falls at Orchard Lake Club Preserve"

Our beloved Wildcat Falls was the setting for this card. The postmark is partially obliterated but I think it's 1915.
